Why It’s Worth It

There are many reasons why it is worth it to create a Google classroom for one, you get a consistent organization and learning environment for you and your students. Now that the world is using technology and email to communicate it is more important than ever to organize that content in a way that won't make you crazy, that's where Google Classroom comes in, keeping you organized, and documenting when students turn things in, not only for you, but for their parents and for your Administration as well.

As more and more of your staff use Google classroom you'll find the guardian summary feature incredibly beneficial, as it automatically communicates what is going on, what's coming up and any assignments that are late or missing for your students to their parents and exactly how to set this up is in a later video.

As I mentioned in the video once you're using Google Classroom, you don't have to reinvent the wheel again and again, you now have a consistent delivery method and organizational process for housing content and delivering it to your students. At the end of the school year you'll be able to archive your classroom and at the start of next year you'll be able to make a copy of that archived classroom to use for a new classroom next year. This will recreate all of your assignments and messages for you to reuse immediately for next year's classes, saving you time and headaches.

Lastly Google classroom has become a standard for third-party applications such as edulastic and edpuzzle and many more, allowing easy synchronization between solutions. Meaning, Google Classroom will have the ability to roster and import grades from these third-party applications automatically.
